*snorts* "Buy a ';point and shoot'?!" Does this guy know anything about cameras? If you're looking for at a 40D, there's no way anyone should recommend a point and shoot! xD

^^ "Point and shoot" is for a lazy amateur like me - Therefor go for the one you desire and have wanted. I'd say Canon even I got a Olympus 550 (which I hardly use) but have taken alot of pics with a "snapshooter" a PowerShot and happy with it, because the brilliant colours Canon's really provide... SineSensus is right and I agree, the 50D doesn't bring anything better, just a new model of a good camera - I'd buy that 40D.

Glad to hear you're doing alright  would be nice to see you again one of these days :rose:

:) De nada ... It's a big investment with all objectives included, therefor it's better take it easy and wait for a bargain on that model you desire. The "old" 40D base alone still cost almost 800€ out here and that's only the camera and battery charger without any objectives ?!

:rose: I'm OK thanks you, but frustrated as I get nothing done here and it have been so "dificil" to learn portuguese and now we have just 3 lessons left... Just can't find the ways to get into doing something of a meaning. Maybe I should try a trip to Lisboa now in summer with TPA's direct flights so I get a picture how hot it is there on summer. Here sunshines but it feel cold!

Gawd, the guy at the shop is a twit! I can't say anything about the Canons, I've never used one, personally (though I've played with a Powershot). I've seen the Nikon D60 which is fairly good and not terribly expensive. :)
